FORMER Cherries youngster Marcus Daws has secured a return to the pro ranks, earning a professional development contract with Premier League outfit Luton Town.

The Northern Ireland under-21 international impressed on trial at Kenilworth Road, seeing the Hatters offer him terms to join their development squad.

Daws was released by Cherries this summer, having joined the club in 2020 from Southampton.

Taunton-born Daws spent last season on loan at Cherries’ non-league neighbours Poole Town.

It was his second loan spell with Dolphins during his time at Vitality Stadium, playing a total of 41 times and scoring six times for the Southern League Premier South outfit.

Luton Town are a category three academy, with Cherries recently seeing their status upgraded from category three to category two.

As such, the Hatters’ development squad do no compete in a regular league, but will take part in the Premier League Cup this year.
