THE SUMMER transfer window for Premier League clubs does not open for another six days, but the rumour mill has still been churning out links between Cherries and supposed targets.

Some Premier League clubs have already confirmed deals, with Liverpool announcing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton earlier today.

Apart from announcing which players will be leaving the club at the expiry of their contracts this summer, Cherries are yet to do any business – but here are a list of a few rumours that have started to do the rounds.

Nicolas Jackson - Villarreal

Cherries came very close to signing Nicolas Jackson in January, but concerns over a hamstring injury curtailed what would have been a £21million move.

However, Jackson came back flying after his injury, ending the season with 10 goals in 12 La Liga appearances for Villarreal.

According to the Daily Mail, Cherries have reignited their interest in the Senegal international, but thanks to his fine form, Villarreal believe his value has increased.

All players in Spain have release clauses in their contracts as standards, with Jackson’s rumoured to be around the £30million mark.

After the move for Jackson broke down, Cherries went on to sign Hamed Traore and Antoine Semenyo, who can both play in similar positions.

Gonzalo Plata - Real Valladolid

Gonzalo Plata is another winger currently plying his trade in the Spanish top-flight – although the Ecuadorian suffered relegation with Real Valladolid this campaign.

Spanish media outfit Relevo claim that Cherries are interested in the 22-year-old, although no potential fee has been mentioned.

A 33-time international for Ecuador, Plata scored once and provided seven assists in the Spanish top-flight last term.

The Spanish club are owned by the legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo and are expected to lose a host of stars this summer, with Arsenal heavily linked with talented teenage right-back Ivan Fresneda.

Romain Faivre - Olympique Lyon

Yet another winger that has been linked with Cherries is Frenchman Romain Faivre.

Currently at Olympique Lyon, Faivre started his professional career with Monaco.

However, his best spell came in Brittany, where he 59 times for Stade Brestois, scoring 14 times and providing 11 assists.

Faivre spent the last months of the season on loan at Cherries’ sister club, FC Lorient, effectively replacing Dango Ouattara, who arrived at Vitality Stadium in January.

Whilst he has struggled playing for the bigger clubs in France, he once again excelled with a Breton club, scoring five times and providing three assists in 16 Ligue 1 appearances after joining on loan in January.

Predominantly a right winger, the former France under-21 international can also play on the left or more centrally.

French transfer website footmercato.net claim that both Cherries and Fulham are interested in the 24-year-old, with Lyon looking to recoup the €15million they paid Stade Brestois for his services in January 2022.

Crysencio Summerville - Leeds United

Football rumours can sometimes be all smoke with no fire, but the variety of different sources linking different wide players suggest Cherries are in the market for a winger.

The Athletic report that after Leeds United’s relegation, Crystal Palace and Cherries are interested in Crysencio Summerville.

Formerly with Feyenoord in his native Netherlands, the speedy wideman won a penalty and scored the winner when Cherries lost 4-3 at Elland Road back in November.

He also grabbed the deciding goal the week prior when Leeds famously won at Anfield – the high-point in a season that ended in heartbreak.

In total, this season he contributed four goals in 28 Premier League appearances, also chipping in two assists.

On a long contract in Yorkshire, the Dutchman could be sold to raise funds for Leeds’ push for promotion from the Championship.
