JUNIOR Stanislas received tons of support and thanks on social media from Cherries supporters after it was announced that the stalwart would be leaving the club after nine seasons.

Although forced into a bit-part role the past two seasons by injury, Stanislas leaves as a popular member of the playing squad, both within the changing room and in the stands.

As soon as official confirmation came out that the winger would depart this summer, there was an outpouring of love and gratitude on social media.

World champion boxer Chris Billam-Smith and lifelong Cherry fan led the tributes, sharing how the 33-year-old was a “brilliant human.”

Stanislas, alongside Ryan Fredericks and Marcus Tavernier, watched on at the Vitality last weekend as Billam-Smith defeated Lawrence Okolie to claim the WBA cruiserweight title.

The only other member of the side that lifted the Championship title in 2014/15 still at the club, Adam Smith, inadvertently announced his teammate’s departure on Instagram prior to official confirmation.

Alongside the also departing Jefferson Lerma, Cherries vice-skipper Smith shared how Stanislas had been a great servant to the club.

Here are some tributes we have picked out from Cherries supporters.
