SOCIAL Media has reacted to the Premier League manager of the year nominations, with confusion that Cherries boss Gary O'Neil has not been selected.

In his first role as a senior head coach, O'Neil has secured Premier League survival with two games to go.

Initially appointed on an interm basis, the former Portsmouth midfielder impressed enough to earn the gig full time.

Whilst O'Neil himself has previously played down suggestions he should be a front runner for the award, fans and journalists alike believed he was unlucky to miss out on the nominations entirely.

Cherries' official Twitter account even poked fun at the omission, joking that the Premier League had misspelt O'Neil's name.

Former Cherries boss Eddie Howe is included alongside Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa's Unai Emery, Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, and Fulham's Marco Silva.

Do you think O'Neil should have been nominated?
