BOURNEMOUTH boxer Kayleigh Pingarelli won for her county by split decision at the Lafone Cup in London.

Representing Dorset Police at the O2 against Amber Justin, who was boxing for hosts Met Police, Pingarelli came out on top.

Former Bournemouth School for Girls student Pingarelli, who trains at Champions Boxing and Martial Arts, held at that same venue, went into the bout with four amateur fights under her belt, compared to eight for Justin.

Pingarelli was on the ropes early on, but managed to battle back, landing a jab to slow her opponent.

Justin started round two quickly, but Pingarelli was more alert to the threat this time around, before the referee had to step in for two standing eight counts after Justin got caught.

After a well contested final round, Pingarelli was crowned winner by the judges.
