CHERRIES chairman Bill Foley is planning a documentary series that will cover the fortunes of Cherries.

According to the Athletic, a project tentatively titled ‘David versus Goliaths’ has been pitched by the American businessman.

Eagled-eyed supporters spotted NFL Films cameras around Vitality Stadium when Cherries defeated Leeds United back in April, with the company Cherries’ production partner for the upcoming documentary.

A ‘sizzle reel’ that will offer a taster of the project was shot during the Leeds game that all but secured Cherries’ second consecutive season in the top-flight.

Fly-on-the-wall style documentaries covering sports teams have become all the rage in recent years, starting with Amazon’s All or Nothing series that has covered different seasons of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

NFL Films previously worked on the All or Nothing series covering multiple different NFL franchises.

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney’s series Welcome to Wrexham will be a likely source of inspiration, with the documentary covering multiple years of Wrexham, who are owned by the duo.

Foley, who also owns a NHL franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, led Black Knight Football Entertainment’s takeover of Cherries in December.

With his hockey team, Foley has garnered a reputation for showmanship and grandeur in the matchday experience, explaining the recent changes to Vitality Stadium, such as a DJ and more content on the big screens.
