HAMSTRING injuries ruled both Marcus Tavernier and Chris Mepham out of Sunday’s win against Leeds United, boss Gary O’Neil confirmed.

Both men played key roles in Thursday night’s victory at Southampton, but Tavernier was forced off towards the end of the game, having scored the winner.

Neither player featured in the matchday squad as Cherries swept aside Javi Gracia’s Whites 4-1 at Vitality Stadium.

Asked for an update on the pair, O’Neil told the Daily Echo: “Meps is a strange one. He didn’t feel it at all during the game, but the next couple of days started to feel it a little bit.

“So we just felt there was no point in risking him today.

“Tavs has had a scan and has a hamstring issue. We’re not sure how long it will take. There are still some more opinions to come in.”
