CHERRIES duo Dango Ouattara and Hamed Traore helped their respective countries to wins in the African Cup of Nations.

Ouattara played the full 90 minutes as Burkina Faso edged past Togo courtesy of an 87th minute Abdoul Tapsoba winner.

Les Étalons top group B after winning their opening three fixtures, with the maximum of nine points at the halfway point of the qualifying campaign.

Hamed Traore played 72 minutes of the Ivory Coast’s 3-1 win over Comoros.

The Ivorians ran out winners following goals from Christian Kouame, Seb Haller, and Jean-Philippe Krasso, with Ibrahim Djoudja.

Just like Burkina Faso, the Elephants top their section, group H, although they have taken seven points from their three games, beating Comoros and Zambia whilst being held by Lesotho.

Both teams face rematches against the same opponents on Tuesday night, Burkina Faso travelling to Togo and the Ivory Coast away at Comoros.
The Ivory Coast have already qualified for the tournament by virtue of being hosts for the finals.

They will host the 2023 edition of the African Cup of Nations in January and February of 2024, after the tournament was pushed back from its original schedule of a summer competition.
