BOSS Roberto De Zerbi described his Brighton side's 1-0 win over Cherries on Saturday as "one of the best games of my time" at the club.

The Seagulls, who sit sixth in the Premier League, grabbed a late winner when Kaoru Mitoma headed home, three minutes from time.

Cherries gave a good account of themselves for the most part, looking lively in attack during the first half in particular, but missed chances again proved costly.

The hosts then penned Cherries back and eventually got the breakthrough.

Discussing his side's latest win, former Sassuolo boss De Zerbi said: “I’m really happy.

“I think it was a very difficult game but we knew this week the difficulty of the game.

“I think it was one of the best games of my time in terms of quality of play, number of shots, attitude to finding the win.

“It was a very difficult game to win. This result for us is very important but we deserved to win. Absolutely.”

Defeat leaves Cherries 19th in the table, one point from safety with 17 games to play.

Gary O'Neil's men host fourth-placed Newcastle United on Saturday, a Vitality Stadium return for Toon boss Eddie Howe (5.30pm).
