ALEX Neil is pleased to have reunited with Cherries midfielder Ben Pearson at Stoke City, insisting he will be a “fantastic addition” to the Potters.

Pearson left Cherries late on transfer deadline day, joining the Championship Potters on loan until the end of the season.

It means a reunion for Pearson with Neil, the Stoke boss.

Pearson has not played under another manager more than the Scot, featuring 116 times whilst Neil was in charge at Preston North End.

Discussing the arrival of the 28-year-old, Neil said: “Ben is a player I know really well and I’m sure with his experience he will prove to be a fantastic addition to our squad.”

Stoke’s technical director Ricky Martin added: “We are delighted to have secured the services of a player that Alex knows and trusts.

“Ben gives us even more options in midfield.”
