JORDAN Zemura described as a “great guy” Nottingham Forest’s goal hero Sam Surridge, admitting the former Cherries striker was a “pantomime villain” on Saturday.

Zemura and Surridge both featured for Cherries’ under-21s and first team together, before the latter departed for Stoke City in August 2021.

Surridge, who was schooled in Ferndown and was a Cherries ball boy as a kid, received some boos from the crowd when he was substituted on and popped up to haunt his former club with the equaliser for Forest in a 1-1 draw at Vitality Stadium.

Reflecting on Surridge’s key impact, Zemura told the Daily Echo: “Pantomime villain I think he was!

“Fair play to Sam, I heard that was his first Premier League goal.

“He’s a great guy. I got along with him really well.

“That’s just football, people moving on, people stay. It happened to be him (scoring) on Saturday, which is bittersweet.”
