JAIDON Anthony is being tracked by Premier League leaders Arsenal with his contract at Cherries set to expire at the end of this season, the Daily Echo understands.

Despite the link to his former club, the 23-year-old’s preference is to remain at the Vitality Stadium beyond the end of his current deal.

Aside from Arsenal, the Daily Echo understands that there is an interest in the winger from fellow Premier League club Leicester City, with further suitors from Germany in the form of Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.

Anthony spent a decade on the books at Arsenal prior to his release and subsequent signing at Cherries when he was 16.

Previously, Nottingham Forest and Everton have also been listed as interested parties in the winger.

Whilst clubs based in England must wait until the end of a contract to discuss terms with Anthony, sides outside of the country may now approach the starlet with less than six months left on his deal.

Cherries will also earn less money via compensation if Anthony opts for a move abroad, with international deals for players moving between clubs on a free transfer legislated by FIFA’s training compensation.

With Anthony under the age of 24, Cherries would be due a more significant compensation package if he were to join another club in England.

Discussing the interest in his client, Anthony’s agent Godfrey Torto told the Daily Echo: “I can't comment on the particular clubs in terms of speculation, but with Jaidon running into the last six months of his contract, it's natural that clubs would be interested in a player of his talent and age.

“However, Jaidon has always indicated he's happy at Bournemouth. He does love the club, as seen after the Burnley game - he stayed out with the fans, he wrote a letter to them as well.

“He loves the club and his focus is trying to help the club get results, and try and stay in the league.”

The Daily Echo understands that negotiations between the club and Anthony are on going, with the ball currently in Cherries’ court.

Torto continued: “In terms of the contract situation, we are in dialogue.

“I think Jaidon has always been wanting to stay at the club and I think the main thing is trying to find a fair deal that he's happy with and works for the club.

“But we are in dialogue and it was last left for the club to come back.

“So, that's where the situation is, basically.

“He is happy at the club and we are in dialogue about a contract, but we're just waiting to hear back from Bournemouth.”
