ETHAN Pinnock revealed how he was put through his paces by former teammate Kieffer Moore during Brentford’s 2-0 win over Cherries.
Defender Pinnock and striker Moore played the full 90 minutes as the Bees ended up victorious at the Gtech Community Stadium, courtesy of Ivan Toney’s first-half penalty and Mathias Jensen’s strike late on in the second period.
Cherries attacker Moore, a Welsh international, played alongside Pinnock at two different clubs, the pair first crossing paths at non-league Forest Green.
Whilst with the Gloucestershire outfit, the duo were called up for duty with England C, a select side for the best performers in non-league.
Interestingly, both players are now full internationals for different countries, Moore representing Wales, whilst Pinnock turns out for Jamaica.
Moore and Pinnock also played for Barnsley, racking up 59 appearances together over their shared time at both clubs.
Talking to Brentford’s social media about facing Moore, Pinnock shared: “I know when I’m up against Kieffer it’s going to be a battle.
“He’s a strong lad, he’s good in the air and he works hard.
“You have to match that, because if you don’t, that’s when things go wrong. Today I managed to deal with it quite well.
“They’re dangerous from set-pieces – they’ve a lot of different routines and some good players to attack the ball – so to get the first contact at set-pieces is a good feeling.”
