CHERRIES are among a handful of Premier League clubs interested in signing Lorient winger Dango Ouattara, according to reports.

Ouattara’s name was first linked to Cherries yesterday by transfer website TEAMtalk, with various other outlets also now listing Gary O’Neil’s side with a move for the player.

Leicester City and Everton are also reportedly very keen to snap up the talented 20-year-old in this transfer window.

Cherries’ cause could be helped by the fact new owner Bill Foley is understood to be looking to add Lorient to his portfolio of clubs with talks ongoing.

Ouattara is a Burkina Faso international and has scored five goals in 11 appearances for the West African nation.

He left Burkinabe club Majestic, from his hometown Ouagadougou, in 2019 to join Lorient’s B team.

Ouattara quickly progressed up and has now played 42 times for the French top tier side, netting six goals and providing seven assists.

Discussing January transfer targets last week, head coach O’Neil said: “There are a few positions in the squad that I would like to strengthen. I think attacking threat is definitely one of them."
