MARCUS Tavernier has labelled Cherries’ trip to Elland Road this weekend to face Leeds United as “a big test”, stressing: “We know it is going to be tough”.

Currently one point behind in the Premier League table, Leeds are breathing down the necks of 15th placed Cherries, with the Whites in 14th.

Previewing the clash, Tavernier told the Daily Echo: “It's a tough ground to go to and we know it's going to be a big test for us.

“We have to focus on the details and what we can do to affect them and really focus on that.”

Tavernier’s older brother, Rangers star James Tavernier, is a self-confessed fan of the Whites, with the pair hailing from West Yorkshire.

Although Marcus was born in Leeds, he revealed he did not share his brother’s support for the city’s club.

“No just him (who supports Leeds),” he responded when asked if he was a fan of the Whites like his brother.

With Rangers in action on Sunday, there was potentially chance for James to watch his younger sibling face his favourite team, as he has previously done.

Quashing that idea, Tavernier responded: “Probably not. He won't make that one!”
