BILL Foley is set to take in his first Cherries game this weekend, with the American businessman expected to be in attendance for the visit of Leicester City to Vitality Stadium.

As reported by BBC Radio Solent, Foley is set to fly in to Bournemouth this week for the first time, as he edges closer to completing his purchase of the club.

Billionaire Foley, 77, is the majority owner of National Hockey League side the Vegas Golden Knights.

He is also the chairman of one of the US’ largest insurance companies, Fidelity National Financial.

He and his team are set to bring to an end the decade-long reign of Maxim Demin as Cherries owner, who is reportedly set to sell his shares for £150million.

Foley's deal to purchase Cherries is not expected to be fully ratified for a number of weeks.

As reported by the Daily Mail, paperwork related to the sale is expected to be completed in the coming days.

The deal will then be referred to the Premier League, to undergo the owners and directors test.

Providing there are no hitches, Foley could be running the club from mid-November.

Neill Blake and Richard Hughes have been playing the key roles in takeover talks, with both expected to stay on at the club under Foley's regime.

The visit of the Foxes is set to be interim boss Gary O'Neil's fifth game in charge, following the sacking of Scott Parker in late August.
