TOM Killick hopes to have Cherries loanee Marcus Daws for the trip to Gosport Borough on Wednesday, after the Northern Ireland youth international made his return from injury.

18-year-old Daws is currently on a season-long loan at the BlackGold Stadium, having previously spent time on loan with Dolphins towards the tail end of last season.

A hip injury has kept him out of Poole’s last four fixtures, with his last appearance coming against Weston-super-Mare, a game in which he grabbed Poole’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat.

Thanks to the terms of his youth loan, Daws is still able to play for Cherries’ youth teams, meaning he was able to start for Shaun Cooper’s under-21s as they defeated Derby County 2-1 on Friday evening.

When asked if he was expecting to have the Cherries winger available soon, Killick told the Daily Echo following Poole’s 5-0 win over Yate: “I'm hoping.

“I mean, (Cherries) wanted him to do a full week of training and then have minutes.

“He's had that. I haven't spoken to either him or anyone at the club.

“I'm hoping if he has come through unscathed and no reaction to the injury, which is hopefully the case, then perhaps we'd be in a position to have him with us on Wednesday because I do feel he's someone that can help us a lot.”
