CHRIS Wilder is not on the list of potential candidates for the Cherries head coach role despite a monumental shift in betting odds, the Daily Echo understands.
The Middlesbrough manager’s price to become the Dorset club’s next permanent boss plummeted overnight between Sunday and Monday morning.
Wilder was suddenly a red-hot favourite with bookmakers, becoming as short as 1/5 to take the role after Gary O’Neil was listed as a 1/7 shot hours previously.
The Daily Echo understands former Sheffield United boss Wilder is not thought to be on a list of considered candidates for the role at Vitality Stadium.
The Northern Echo reported there had been “no formal approach” from Cherries to Boro regarding Wilder, with the 55-year-old expected to take training this week for the Championship side.
Cherries are on the lookout for a new boss after the sacking of Scott Parker last month.
O’Neil has been in interim charge of the side since then and is unbeaten in his three games at the helm.
