CHERRIES star Dominic Solanke revealed the tight-knit nature of the group at the Vitality Stadium, claiming: “Our squad is just built that way”.

Solanke, who blossomed into a key cog in the Cherries machine during their two-year stint in the Championship, has again been the focal point of the side this season.

The start of the season has been somewhat of a roller coaster for those involved at Cherries, with a 9-0 defeat away at Liverpool quickly followed by the dismissal of head coach Scott Parker.

Another eventful day saw Solanke score and bag an assist in the comeback win over Nottingham Forest at the start of the month, Cherries brushing off outside noise regarding the vacant head coach position.

Gary O’Neil remains in interim charge of the side, but there has been further speculation in the following weeks, with reports that owner Maxim Demin is in “exclusive talks” regarding selling Cherries to American businessman Bill Foley.

Despite all of the uncertainty surrounding the club, the former Liverpool and Chelsea man insisted Cherries were focused on their football.

Speaking after the Forest victory, Solanke detailed: “Our squad is just built that way, we're all very close and we worked a lot together last season.

“Obviously we had that promotion together, so we know what we're capable of. We stick together and we back each other.

“We're a tight group and we’re always talking. We can't let distractions get the better of us.”
