CHERRIES midfielder Philip Billing has been recognised for this goalscoring exploits in the September, with the Dane nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

26-year-old Billing struck twice in successive games to help his side to an impressive haul of four points from two tricky away trips in September.

His first was the pick of the bunch, with the former Huddersfield man blasting home from range with a screamer that kick-started Cherries’ eventual comeback away at Nottingham Forest at the start of the month.

Billing was in the goals again at the weekend, poking home Jordan Zemura’s cross as Cherries went on to draw with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

It is the first time the Danish international has been nominated for the award.

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford will be amongst the favourites for the award.

Belgian international De Bruyne set up three goals as City drew with Aston Villa and beat Wolves 3-0, whilst England starlet Rashford has returned to form this month, notching two goal and two assists as the Red Devils arrested their poor start to life under new boss Erik ten Hag.

Other players to be nominated include Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey.

Fans will be able to vote for who they believe most deserving of the gong by visiting the EA SPORTS website before midday on Monday, September 26.
