THE FIRST international break of the 2022-23 campaign has arrived – with seven Cherries first-teamers selected for duty with their respective countries.

Welsh duo Chris Mepham and Kieffer Moore are tasked with keeping Wales in the top-flight of the Nations League, whilst Philip Billing hopes to reach the final of the competition with Denmark, who currently top their group.

Ryan Christie’s Scotland are set to do battle with Mark Travers’ Ireland, whilst Jefferson Lerma is the only Cherry to have been called up for international duty outside of Europe, with Colombia facing Guatemala and Mexico in friendlies.

Jamal Lowe is off to represent Jamaica in their friendly with Argentina.

Jordan Zemura's Zimbabwe are still banned from international football by FIFA, whilst Marcos Senesi has been left out of the Argentina squad after making his debut in June.

And at youth level, recent debutant Owen Bevan could be in line for another first. Currently on loan at National League Yeovil, Bevan has been selected to represent Wales at under-21 level.
