TWYNHAM Rangers are through to the final of the Hampshire Junior A Cup after emerging 3-1 winners from a superbly-contested all-Bournemouth semi-final with Malt 'n' Hops United.

Gareth Brickhill gave Rangers an early lead and Alan Etherton showed excellent technique when he added another just after the interval.

Ryan Butcher pulled one back for United but any hopes they had of getting back on terms were soon dashed when Brickhill raced clear to blast home his second goal of the game.

Dave Windsor, Rob Stephenson, Phil Turner and Marc Jennings were the Bisterne United Reserves marksmen when they booked their place in the final of the Hampshire Junior B Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory over Four Marks.

SWAY'S DOUBLE DELIGHT

Reigning Division One champions Suttoners Civil saw their long unbeaten league record come to an end at Sway a fortnight ago and the current leaders completed the double when they subdued Suttoners 2-0 courtesy of Paul Sims and a Dominic Taylor penalty. Sway are now nine points clear at the top but Suttoners have four games in hand.

Wayne Mills and Peter Hurford struck for Pennington St Marks but they had to settle for a point when Gareth Weigh and Liam McGlynn earned Southbourne a 2-2 draw.

Alex Miller netted for Electric but their five game unbeaten run came to an end when Redlynch & Woodfalls United shaded it 2-1 with goals from Ryan Cox and Ben Read.

Adam Jones and Jamie Sturgess struck for Hamworthy Recreation but Verwood Town just got the better of them 3-2 with goals from James Murray, Carl Smalley and Matt Newbery.

Bottom-placed Redhill were on the receiving end again when Old Oakmeadians sank them 3-0 with goals from Adam Light, Alan Marsh and Sean Huggins while Dan Ravelin's strike for fellow strugglers Trinidad was not enough to save them from a 3-1 defeat against Westover Bournemouth whose goals came via Ricardo De Araujo, Clive Stopper and Aaron Smith.

  • Division Two leaders Suttoners Civil Reserves had a bad day at the office when nearest rivals Ferndown Town scuppered them 5-0 courtesy of Craig Robinson's hat-trick and further goals from Gary Pidgley and Martin Kelly to take over on top on goal difference.

Daniel Cocorachio, Mike La Ronde and Neil Johnsone gave promotion rivals Parley Sports a 3-1 success against tailenders Bournemouth A while Mudeford Mens Club put paid to AFC Highcliffe 3-0 with goals from Lee Moss (2) and Sam Atkins.

Mark Pudney and Dave McQuillan netted for Bournemouth Electric Reserves but Fordingbridge Turks surprised them 3-2 with goals from Jason Thorne (2) and Jamie Pain.

harrington held Unbeaten Division Three pacesetters Harrington United were held to a 0-0 draw by third-placed St Andrews and Dorset Knob reduced the gap between them and the league leaders when Anthony Winders (2) and Paul Scadding gave them the upper hand 3-1 against Sway Reserves.

Anderson Zanotto plundered four in Westover Bournemouth A's 7-4 triumph over JP Morgan with Andre Dos Santos (2) and Brett Barrass also on target while St Mary's were 5-2 winners against AFC Burton thanks to Ben Corbin, Dan Moorfoot, Daniel Benson, James Aldham and Andy Taylor.

FERNANDO ON SONG FOR PORTS

Fernando Valdivielso led the way with a hat-trick when Division Four front-runners Portcastrian gave Wessex Lions a 6-2 drubbing from Dan Jones (2) and Ben Virabi also on target.

David Ball (2), Will Nicholls and Neil Jobbins gave second-placed Walkford a 4-2 victory over Stourvale but Alderholt were held to a 0-0 draw by Cherry Bees.

Paul Lines weighed in with a hat-trick when Fencing Centre maintained their rich vein of form by beating Magpies and Woolsbridge United 4-1 with the other goal coming from Jason Cliffe.
