WIMBORNE Town and Hamworthy United have both progressed into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.

James Stokoe's Magpies came from behind to beat Moneyfields 3-1, while Tim Sills's Hammers battled to a 3-2 win over Badshot Lea in the preliminary round.

Wimborne were due to travel to Moneyfields, but the tie was reversed due to ongoing redevelopment work at the Hampshire club's ground.

New hosts Magpies came close to breaking the deadlock early on, with Jez Bedford hitting the crossbar, before the Wessex League opponents took a surprise lead.

A poor pass presented Callum Glen with a chance, with his ball into the box finding the far corner.

But Wimborne rallied in the second half, equalising through Bedford.

Substitute Jack Hoey then turned the game on its head with a pinpoint free-kick on 78 minutes, before adding a second in the closing moments.

Hamworthy also found themselves behind against lower-league opponents, trailing to a Cameron Gyeabour goal at half-time.

But Sills's side quickly equalised in the second half through Cam Munn's header, before Sam Griffin completed the comeback, after good work again by Curtis Young.

Munn then turned provider for the hosts, picking out Max Wilcock to make it 3-1, before a late consolation for Badshot Lea, through substitute Jake Hawker.

Lymington Town were dumped out of the FA Cup, losing 6-0 at home to Basingstoke Town.

Wimborne and Hamworthy will be joined by neighbours Poole Town in Monday's first qualifying round draw.
