HEAD coach Scott Parker revealed Cherries were likely to loan out young striker Christian Saydee – and stressed the need for him to get game time.

The former Reading youngster was on target for Shaun Cooper’s development squad as they started their Premier League Cup campaign with a 3-0 victory at Brighton on Wednesday.

Saydee joined Cherries as a 16-year-old and featured five times for the club's first team under Parker last season.

His only goal came in his first appearance, a 5-0 Carabao Cup win over MK Dons at Vitality Stadium. He then failed to find the net during an 18-game stint on loan at Burton Albion.

The 20-year-old had trialled at Porstmouth this campaign as part of their pre-season schedule.

Asked whether the plan would be to get Saydee out on loan once again, Parker told the Daily Echo: “I think a loan deal for Christian is probably the way forward for that situation. He probably needs to go and try to play some games in the league really now.

“I think that will probably be the option for him.”

The Hillingdon-born talent signed a new contract at Cherries in March, which runs until the summer of 2023.
