CHERRIES have reportedly entered the race to sign Ghanaian centre-back Abdul Mumin.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes, was thought to be closing in on a switch to Ligue 1 side Angers, for an initial 3million euros.

But French outlet L'Equipe now claim that move has been paused, due to interest from Premier League duo Cherries and Fulham.

The report states Mumin's preference would be a move to Cherries.

Mumin developed at the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, before a move to Denmark with Nordsjaelland in 2016.

He progressed into their first team, making 47 appearances and also spending time out on loan at HB Koge.

Vitoria came calling in 2020, where Mumin has featured on 61 occasions, including four UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers this summer.

Although he is yet to make his international debut, Mumin was part of Ghana's squad for this year's Africa Cup of Nations in January.
