FORMER Manchester United talent Ben Pearson is hoping to upset his Manchester City-supporting mates with an historic win at the Etihad tomorrow.

Cherries have never recorded a victory over the Citizens, in 17 previous attempts, and some bookmakers have priced them at 40-1 to end that streak this weekend.

Both sides head into this weekend on the back of opening-day 2-0 victories.

And with three points already in the bag from beating Aston Villa, Pearson feels that has eased some pressure ahead of upcoming games against City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Oldham-born ace told the Daily Echo: "That’s what you dream of as a player to come up against, the elite players in the world.

"I think it gives us a bit of breathing space, that result (against Villa).

"The pressure is off a little bit, so we’ll go into the next game with no expectation.

"We’re up against it and I think we can just express ourselves, enjoy working hard and trying to get a result."

Pearson came through the youth ranks at Man Utd, before leaving to join Preston in 2016.

Asked if trips to the Etihad and Anfield in the next few weeks are ideal games for him, Pearson said: "Probably the perfect two games for myself.

"I’ve got a lot of mates who are City fans that will be at the game, so it will be nice to come up against them and see them at the ground."
