CHERRIES have confirmed the signing of Brazilian Neto from Barcelona to bolster the club’s goalkeeping ranks.
The 33-year-old arrives having signed a one-year deal with Scott Parker’s side.
Neto was present to watch Cherries’ 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday and is now set to begin training with his new teammates.
The Dorset club had been keen on bringing in another goalkeeper, with Mark Travers and Will Dennis previously the only senior stoppers at the club.
The club had Alex Smithies and Jonas Lossl trial with the first-team in recent weeks, with no deals offered to either keeper.
Neto had been used as a back-up for Barca, making just 21 appearances since joining in 2019 from Valencia.
He has also previously played in Italy, for Juventus and Fiorentina, and has made 10 appearances in the Champions League.
The experienced keeper began his career with Brazilian outfit Athletico Paranaense.
