TEAM boss Neil Middleditch insisted “anything can happen” come play-off time, as Pirates get set for the business end of their SGB Championship campaign.

The Dorset club have, at present, slipped out of a top-two spot in the division with Glasgow and Leicester occupying those positions – which ensure a place in the league’s semi-finals.

Poole, who overcame bottom-side Berwick last time out, will look to pick up some valuable away points when they take on Edinburgh away from home at Armadale on Friday.

They then follow up their trip to the north with a clash at Berwick the following night.

Middleditch will be passing the reigns to away team manager Gary Havelock for the contests, but is keen to see his side impress on the road.

He said: "I know the lads will be determined to go out and get the best possible results. We just need to make sure that, at the very minimum we reach the play-offs (top-six) come the end of the season.

“Then anything can happen. We have seen it before that teams can win titles from just getting in the play-offs.

“We have done that ourselves before and of course we have been on the other end of topping the table but losing the title, so we have to remember there is a lot of speedway still to come this year. Nothing has been won at this stage."
