LEGENDARY Cherries striker Brett Pitman has completed a move to sign for Wessex League outfit AFC Portchester.

The 34-year-old frontman has joined the Wessex Premier outfit following his release from Bristol Rovers.

The former Ipswich, Portsmouth and Swindon Town striker said on Portchester’s Twitter page: “It’s a really good setup here.

“I’m looking forward to getting started and hopefully having a successful year.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

Portchester finished seventh in their respective division last season, with 72 points from 40 league games.

Pitman enjoyed two successful spells with Cherries after coming through the club's academy, scoring more than 100 goals in his 286 appearances.

He helped the club all the way up from League Two to the Premier League before joining Ipswich in 2015.

Pitman spent the latter part of last season on loan in the National League with Eastleigh.
