FORMER Cherries striker Joshua King is on the lookout for his fourth club in less than two years, after being released early by Watford.

King, who played 184 times for Cherries between 2015 and 2021, scoring 53 goals, has departed the Hornets following their relegation from the Premier League.

The 30-year-old joined Watford last summer, after he was let go by Everton, where he failed to find the net.

During King's season-long stay at Vicarage Road, he notched five goals in 33 appearances.

The Norway international had signed a two-year deal at Watford, with the option for a third.

However, just 12 months into that contract, he is now a free agent again. The Hornets have also released goalkeeper Rob Elliot.

A brief statement from Watford's sporting director Cristiano Giaretta read: "We wish both players well for the future.

“In the case of Rob, he indicated he would wish to consider retirement but the decision is his now, of course.

“We are continuing to consider our options for the third goalkeeper and we need to make sensible choices.”
