BOSS Rob Page confirmed Kieffer Moore had to leave the Wales camp due to a back problem.

The Dragons on Thursday confirmed Moore would not feature in their UEFA Nations League games against Belgium and Netherlands after withdrawing from the squad.

Giving an update on the Cherries striker, Page said: “Kieffer has had to leave us. He has had to leave camp.

“He was struggling with his back and as far as we are concerned it was job done. He has had a massive part in getting us to the World Cup and our full focus was on getting him fit to play that game (against Ukraine).

“We gave him a few minutes against Poland to get him ready for that game and it’s common sense now.

“We want him fit for the start of next season. We want him fit for our camp in September.

“As much as we want to win games of football now it’s preparing for the World Cup.

“We are limited itht he games we’ve got. We have got four games now before the first game against the USA.

“It’s important we have him do a full pre-season – because last season he didn’t as well and that has an impact on players.

“We need him fit, ready for September and then the World Cup.”
