WALES have confirmed Cherries striker Kieffer Moore has withdrawn from their squad due to injury.

The 29-year-old played 90 minutes for Rob Page’s Dragons as they beat Ukraine 1-0 on Sunday, to progress to the World Cup finals in Qatar.

But the towering frontman did not feature in the squad for his nation’s 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands on Wednesday night.

A Tweet from the official Wales Twitter account read: “Tom King has been added to the squad as a fourth goalkeeper. Kieffer Moore has withdrawn due to injury.”

Moore has been troubled by injury, having arrived at Cherries from Cardiff in January.

The former Dorchester Town man was sidelined with a broken foot, sustained on his club debut against Birmingham at Vitality Stadium.

Moore did however return to net four goals in three substitute appearances for Scott Parker’s men, playing a key role in securing promotion to the Premier League.
