PROMOTER Danny Ford said Pirates were hopeful Steve Worrall would be able to feature in their SGB Championship showdown with Leicester at Wimborne Road tomorrow (7.30pm).

Worrall was forced to withdraw from his Premiership club Wolverhampton’s meeting with Peterborough on Monday, due to an issue with his collarbone.

Giving an update on the St Helens-born star, Ford said: “Steve aggravated an injury in his last meeting for Wolves. Nothing is broken, it’s just an old injury and he’s aggravated it.

“It just needed a few more days rest, so we are very hopeful Steve is going to be all okay and we will be able to field a full one-to-seven.

“With these kind of injuries it’s impossible to put a timescale on it, so 48 hours can make the world of difference.

“We have been in constant dialogue with him and said keep us updated, see how you are feeling. Hopefully Steve will be back fully fit.

“We’ve got a backup plan just in case. We have got someone on standby should that matter arise.”
