OUR Daily Echo Perfect Promotion XI reaches its first double-vote, with five centre-backs pitted against each other for two spots in the team.

Over the next few weeks, the class of 2015 will be up against last season’s promotion heroes, giving Daily Echo readers the opportunity to select the members of their ‘Perfect Promotion XI’.

Daily Echo readers have already selected two players, with the goalkeeper spot and right-back berth already filled. We will announce the winners of each poll all together, once voting has concluded in the final poll.

With somewhat strict qualifying criteria, there are five players eligible for selection here.

In order to qualify for selection, players will have had to have played 1500 minutes of league action to be eligible for selection in a poll.

From Eddie Howe’s 2015 Championship winning side there are two very familiar names – Steve Cook and Tommy Elphick.

Skipper Elphick missed just 27 minutes of league action as he led Cherries to the second division title, partnering fellow modern day legend Cook in all 46 games.

Scott Parker gave three centre-halves more than 1500 minutes of football last term.

Another promotion winning captain, Lloyd Kelly, is up for the vote, after making 41 league appearances.

Over the course of the season Kelly had numerous centre-back partners, with only two fellow defenders meeting the threshold for selection.

It was announced that European champion Gary Cahill will leave the club after the expiry of his contract. Parachuted into the team upon his arrival as a free agent in the summer, Cahill made 22 league appearances in total.

Come January he was effectively replaced by the final eligible player for selection – Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips.

Phillips became part of a solid partnership at the back with Kelly, making 17 appearances in the crucial run in.

In total, Phillips just reached the cut-off point for selection, playing 1530 minutes of action as he earnt the second promotion of his career, after previously helping Stuttgart back into the German top-flight.

Voting will last for two days, allowing as many Daily Echo readers to vote as possible.
