CHERRIES secured promotion to England’s top-flight for just the second time in their history last month, matching the exploits of the 2014-15 campaign.
Scott Parker’s stars picked up 88 points as they finished second this season, whilst Eddie Howe’s heroes garnered 90 points on the way to the Championship title.
Stalwart Adam Smith, who made over 20 appearances in both promotion campaigns, believes that last season’s side “probably have more ability” than their predecessors – but what do Cherries fans think?
Over the next few weeks, we will be pitting members of each side against each other, giving Daily Echo readers the opportunity to select the members of their ‘Perfect Promotion XI’.
In order to qualify for selection, players will have had to have played 1500 minutes of league action to be eligible for selection in a poll.
Whilst both sides played different systems and shapes, we will be keeping things basic by utilising a 4-4-2 formation.
Starting with the battle of the goalkeepers between Mark Travers and Artur Boruc, each positional poll will last for two days.
After voting concludes for all positions, we will reveal our Daily Echo Perfect Promotion XI.
