PLAYERS and fans have expressed their admiration for Scott Parker after footage emerged of his key half-time team talk which inspired Cherries to clinch promotion.

With last Tuesday's crunch clash against Nottingham Forest level at 0-0 at half-time, the visitors were looking the more likely winners at Vitality Stadium.

Had Steve Cooper's men gone on to claim victory, they would have been in the box seat to clinch automatic promotion ahead of Cherries with one game left of the Championship season.

However, Cherries produced a vastly improved second-half display, before going on to beat the Tricky Trees 1-0 thanks to a late Kieffer Moore strike.

Behind-the-scenes footage released by afcbTV shows parts of Parker's half-time team talk from the dressing room, where he stressed to his players to not turn the evening into "an emotional game" or a "basketball match".

Parker also stressed how he was confident his attacking players could make the difference and also cited the importance of Nat Phillips in their build-up play.

Hundreds of fans have responded to the video, as well as some current players, including former Cherries stars Jason Pearace andΒ Shaun MacDonald, ex-Liverpool and Scotland international Charlie Adam and Wimborne Town skipper Scott Arnold.
