OLAF Koszela scored a crucial winner for Dorchester Town in a 1-0 victory over bottom side Wimborne – meaning the New Cuthbury side now require snookers to beat the drop.

Koszela’s neat, curled finish in the 37th minute handed the visitors three points and all-but relegated James Stokoe’s side from Southern League Premier South.

That was after Kings Langley drew 0-0 with Gosport, leaving Wimborne bottom of the pile and 15 points behind Langley, who occupy the possible third relegation place in the division.

As well as having to win all of their remaining five fixtures and hope Kings Langley do not pick up another point, Stokoe’s Magpies would have to overhaul a 40-goal swing on goal difference, to have any chance of beating the drop.

Even then, Magpies' points-per-game record may not be enough across other leagues to keep them at step three.

Wimborne have picked up just 16 points this term, winning three league fixtures all season.

They could see their relegation fate fully secured when they host Harrow Borough in league action on Tuesday.

Dorchester’s winner in Saturday’s Dorset derby came when Koszela's goal had a touch of fortune in the build-up.

Harry McGrath miss-controlled Tom Purrington's perfectly flighted through ball which ran loose to striker Koszela on the left.

He strode forward and placed the ball beyond Gerard Benfield into the corner to seal all three points.
