BJARNE Pedersen’s Farewell Meeting at Wimborne Road on March 30 will feature sides representing two title-winning clubs from the 2021 campaign.

The legendary Dane won three top-flight league crowns during his time with Pirates, who then took the Championship honours last year – while Pedersen helped Peterborough to win the Premiership title.

The meeting will include the bulk of the clubs’ 2022 line-ups with the addition of British champion Adam Ellis and former GP star Peter Kildemand.

Poole promoter Danny Ford said: “We are looking to make this a memorable evening for Bjarne, who has been the consummate professional throughout his long career.

“In addition to the challenge of the two clubs that won the leagues last year we are also planning a series of upright demonstrations and some youth races too, whilst Bjarne himself will take to the track for his final laps to seal his British career.

“I think it will be the perfect way to kickstart our speedway season, and I hope we can attract a large crowd to honour Bjarne for the service he has given to British racing.”
