SCOTT Parker confirmed Ryan Christie will see a specialist to discover the extent of his quad injury, but added: "Initial scans are positive."

Christie suffered the problem against Birmingham City in midweek, after both scoring and assisting a goal in the 3-1 victory.

The Scotland international was forced off on the hour mark.

And he did not make the trip to Blackpool for Cherries' contest with the Tangerines at Bloomfield Road this afternoon.

Without him, Cherries won 2-1 thanks to late goals from Jamal Lowe and Siriki Dembele.

Asked for an update on Christie's injury, Parker said: "Ryan Christie, initial scans are positive. He will see a specialist on Monday, but at this present moment in time, I’m hoping it’s not as bad as first thought and it’s not too serious.

"Gary picked up a little bit of a knee problem yesterday in training. A bit of fluid on the knee. Didn’t think it would be beneficial to get on a plane, fly up here, so just rested that one."

Parker also offered an encouraging update on Ethan Laird, who is yet to make his debut for the club.

"Ethan Laird is back training on Monday with us, so he’ll be with the squad," said the boss.

"He’s moving in the right direction."
