SCOTT Parker has revealed that he would be “honoured” to accept Luke Garrard’s request to shadow the Cherries head coach, after he was shown complimentary words towards him from the Boreham Wood gaffer.

Ahead of the FA Cup fourth round clash this weekend, Garrard – who has the Wood in the upper reaches of the National League this season – spared breath for kind words on his Cherries counterpart, as well as an unusual request.

In his press conference, the 36-year-old said: ““He (Parker) is an unbelievable manager.

“I am going to ask him afterwards if I can come in for three or four days to watch him and work alongside him because what I have witnessed in my prep is outstanding.

“I think what he and his management team have done, and how they set up, is incredible and if I can take one per cent from Scott Parker, I am a better manager.”

Parker was then showed the video of Garrard saying that earlier in the day during his media addressing, which he admitted was: “Pretty humbling.”

The 41-year-old Cherries boss added that he will be happy to facilitate any request from the Boreham Wood boss – who, despite being much younger, has actually served in his position since October 2015.

“Pretty humbling, to be honest with you,” Parker said, after listening.

“I’m very appreciative of Luke and them words. I’ll be more than happy to offer him whatever he wants and I’m sure I’ll bat some ideas back with him.”

He continued: “I don’t know a lot about Boreham Wood, of course I don’t and I’d be lying if I said I did, but what I do know from the research I’ve done as of Monday morning prepping for this game and everything around it is that I see a team to be doing what they’re doing and to be where they are, they must be doing something right.

“I appreciate them words that he said and I’d be honoured to show him anything that he feel he may need or wants to look at or has seen of us, of course I’ll be more than happy to give him that information.”
