BOSS Scott Parker remained tight-lipped on the club’s reported interest in Derby skipper Tom Lawrence.

The Wales international has been mooted as a transfer target of Cherries for a number of weeks, with the Rams’ well-documented financial issues.

But when asked about 28-year-old Lawrence, Parker refused to comment on just one player.

Parker said: “I wouldn’t want to comment on anyone’s players, any individual players. I just wouldn’t want to, in respect of that.

“I feel that we need to improve certain areas – attacking areas of the pitch are where we need to get to, or we need to look at.

“They are the areas we are looking at. Regarding any certain individuals it’s not something I will be willing to sit here and do out of respect for the clubs and players.”

Lawrence joined Derby from Leicester in 2017 and has gone on to play 171 times for the club at senior level.

The 28-year-old winger, whose contract reportedly expires in the summer, scored twice against Cherries in the Dorset club’s 3-2 defeat at Pride Park back in November.

“What I can say is there are areas which we are looking,” said Parker.

“I can tell the fans we are trying our hardest and the people in those places – scouts, recruitment departments, ownership, we are doing all we can to get bodies in to help us.”

The transfer window closes on Monday (11pm). Before then, Cherries make the trip to Barnsley on Saturday (3pm).
