SCOTT Parker has reiterated his desire to sign a striker in the final week of the transfer window, admitting: "We're heavily dependent on certain players."

Dominic Solanke has had a career-best season in front of goal, notching 19 times in his 28 appearances across all competitions.

Only Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham (27) and Blackburn Rovers frontman Ben Brereton Diaz (20) boast a better record in the Championship this campaign than Solanke's second-flight haul of 18.

However, goals have proved hard to come by from elsewhere with Philip Billing Cherries' second top scorer with eight and Jaidon Anthony third on six.

Cherries are the third highest scorers in the Championship this season, with 43, but that is eclipsed by runaway leaders Fulham who have scored a staggering 73 goals from their 27 matches.

Solanke has not scored in his past two matches, with Cherries losing to Luton Town and Hull City. He has not gone three without a goal all season and will be looking to get back on track against rock-bottom Barnsley on Saturday.

But asked if the 24-year-old needs some help alongside him before next Monday's transfer deadline, boss Parker said: "Yeah, I think so.

"Obviously there is a big responsibility on Dom.

"You look at the goals and where they’ve come from in our team, we’re heavily dependent on certain players.

"I think that’s very obvious.

"I think that’s down to us and we’re trying our hardest to try and support that, trying to give us a little bit more depth that we can change things in certain moments, or in certain aspects of games.

"We’re just a little bit short on that. In terms of injuries, of course that’s had a little bit of an affect on that, but definitely in this window now, hopefully we can try and address that with personnel as well."
