FULL-BACK Leif Davis revealed Scott Parker “doesn’t hold anything back” with Cherries’ players and insisted: “In the dressing room, he just demands everything.”

Parker saw his side slump to a 1-0 defeat to Hull City in the second half at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, after a lacklustre second-half display.

The former England international admitted the game served as a “wake-up call” for his entire group, following back-to-back defeats.

Asked what Parker was like post-match after a loss like Saturday’s, Davis told the Daily Echo: “He’s not long been out the game as well and he wants to be out there.

“As soon as he sees something, he wants to be out there.

“In the dressing room, he just demands everything. He doesn’t hold anything back – he will always just say what he needs to say, which helps.

“If you’ve got a manager that doesn’t say anything, then you’re not going to achieve anything.”

Cherries have won just two of their past 10 league games.

Quizzed on how important Parker’s honesty was, especially when going through a blip, the on-loan Leeds United defender replied: “You need it as a player.

“If the manager doesn’t say anything, you don’t know where you are going wrong on the pitch.

“When he’s shouting like that in the changing room after the game, it’s like ‘we need to get going again’.

“It’s like a kick up the backside to be fair – we need to get going.”

Cherries make the trip to Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday.
