CHERRIES and Queens Park Rangers are reportedly “plotting moves” for Derby County star Tom Lawrence.

Football Insider claim a number of clubs are tracking the Rams skipper, with Wayne Rooney’s side hit by financial issues this season.

The Rams went into administration last September and have been docked 21 points for breaching EFL financial rules.

Wales international Lawrence joined Derby from Leicester in 2017 and has gone on to play 170 times at senior level.

The 28-year-old winger, whose contract reportedly expires in the summer, scored twice against Cherries in the Dorset club’s 3-2 defeat at Pride Park back in November.

Speaking generally about transfers, Cherries boss Scott Parker insisted the club were very much still active in the January transfer window.

Asked on Thursday if an attacking midfielder was on his list of targets, Parker said: "I think there is an area there where we can strengthen, along with a few others.

"That's not just the (only) area where I feel that we can look to build in a little bit more.

"I do think the front half of the pitch is an area where we are looking at, where we probably need to improve.

"Whether that is more of an attack-minded number eight, a winger or a forward. I think that area of the pitch is somewhere we are looking to try and improve a bit."
