LOCAL sides have had split luck in the FA Vase fifth round draw, with Hamworthy United handed a home draw with Tunbridge Wells, whilst Wessex rivals Brockenhurst will play away at Athletic Newham.

With the draw still regionalised, there was a high chance the two promotion rivals could have drawn each other, but instead, they will be playing sides from other Step five leagues.

Tunbridge Wells currently ply their trade in the Southern Counties East, sharing a division with the side that Hamworthy beat in the previous round, Glebe.

Whilst Glebe sit in third, Kent side Tunbridge Wells are midtable, sitting ninth.

Similarly, Brockenhurst’s next Vase opponents, Atheltic Newham, sit midtable in the Essex Senior League, occupying eighth place.

Whilst certainly not the local trips they are used to in the Wessex Premier, Brockenhurst will travel 132 miles up to London to face Newham.

Ties will be played Saturday, February 12, with winning sides receiving £2,250 and losing sides getting £750.
