HEAD coach Scott Parker said Cherries were still very much active in the January transfer window, with the option to strengthen in a “few positions”.

The Dorset club have been linked with strikers Kieffer Moore and Lyndon Dykes this week, as well as Blackburn Rovers midfielder Joe Rothwell.

And although Cherries have already brought in defenders Ethan Laird and James Hill this month, Parker reiterated the club were still “active in this market”.

Asked whether he was looking for a striker this month, the Cherries boss replied: “We are definitely looking - not just for a striker – there is no position I am going to open up.

“But we are definitely active in this market. We are looking for players and if the right player comes available in a position we feel we need and can help us, then we will try to do business.

“Of course, the restrictions or what we can or can’t afford, where we can go, that comes into play like every team from the Premier League to this.

“But what I can say is we are in the market here to try to strengthen where we need to strengthen. There are a few positions where we need to do that really.”
