CHERRIES youngster Jack Seddon is ready to get stuck into his loan spell with Southern Premier League Poole Town – with the defender already counting down the hours until their next game.

The Christchurch-born centre-back came off the bench to mark his first appearance in a senior game, with the youngster helping Poole see out a 3-1 win over rivals Wimborne on New Year’s Day.

Speaking after his debut in the Cross-Stour derby against Wimborne, Seddon told the Daily Echo: “I really enjoyed my first minutes of senior football.

“I felt comfortable when I came on and just kept it simple to see out the game.

“The home fans were amazing throughout the game and really got behind the lads. I’m already looking forward to the game against Tiverton.

“For me I felt comfortable coming on whilst defending a comfortable lead. “I like to ease my way into a game by keeping things simple and getting that first good tackle in.”

Apart from being up for the challenge of non-league football, Seddon, who has been with Cherries since the age of nine, also revealed how he hoped the loan spell could help him to improve and progress at Vitality Stadium.

“I’m really excited for my loan spell at Poole Town,” continued Seddon.

“There are plenty of games left in the season so hopefully I get decent minutes, which will be good for my development.

“I’m sure being involved in competitive men’s football will allow me to mature as a player, and improve on certain attributes that are crucial for a defender.”

Seddon and Poole travel to Devon this afternoon, as they hope to make it three wins in a row by beating Tiverton Town (kick-off 3pm.)
