SCOTT Parker declared himself "immensely proud" of his Cherries side, insisting their 1-1 draw at Fulham was a "point gained".

Cherries took the lead at table-topping Fulham through Dominic Solanke in the opening minute of the second half.

But, just as it looked like the visitors may cling on to a superb win, Tosin Adarabioyo headed in an equaliser with six minutes to play.

Cherries welcomed back Gary Cahill and Adam Smith from injury for the contest, but were still without defensive duo Lloyd Kelly and Jordan Zemura, as well as the suspended Jefferson Lerma.

Discussing the draw, Parker told the Daily Echo: "I’m immensely proud of my team, to be quite honest with you. Because in the circumstances we find ourselves in, players out there tonight with one day’s training, players coming on with not a lot of training. There’s no denying at this present moment in time we’re in a tough spell regarding injuries and the squad is being depleted a little bit.

"We played against an extremely good side. And I told the team at times we’re going to have to suffer, there’s going to be a bit of pain so overall my overriding thought or emotion is proud of what the team have done in the circumstances.

"Hopefully now we can get the other side of this, get some players back and get back to a real full strength squad and keep pushing."

Asked if he felt it was a point gained or two dropped given the late equaliser, Parker said: "It’s a point gained, a million per cent. (Fulham) are a strong side.

"You see how strong they are by what they’re bringing off the bench. A strong team, a full depth team at this present moment in time and a very good side.

"They’re going to be right up there, there’s no denying that. That’s a point gained for us, under the circumstances, the way the game panned out.

"We had to ride our luck a little bit."
