BOSS Scott Parker admits he had doubts whether Jefferson Lerma deserved to be shown red for bringing down Matty Godden.

The Colombia international, operating in an unfamiliar centre-back position, was given his marching orders for taking down the Coventry striker having been deemed to have been the last man by referee David Coote.

Cherries were 2-0 up at Vitality Stadium at the time with 20 minutes to play, but ended up drawing 2-2 with Coventry scoring twice in the dramatic closing stages.

Asked if he had any complaints with the red card, Parker said: "At the time I did.

"At the time when I looked at it real speed, I don’t know if it’s my emotion talking, but at the time I thought Steve Cook was coming round and covering that.

"But I might be totally wrong in saying that. Maybe it’s just the emotion of the game and I’ve not seen it back, so I’ll have to check."

Lerma is now set to miss Friday's top-of-the-table clash with Fulham as he serves a one-match ban.

The Cottagers sit one point ahead of Cherries in the table, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Preston North End.
