LEWIS Cook described as a “top lad” Cherries full-back Leif Davis and added: “You can see how direct he is.”
Davis has joined Cherries on a season-long loan from Leeds United, where Cook himself came through the ranks as a youngster.
An injury to Jordan Zemura has opened up an opportunity for Davis at left-back in Cherries’ past two games, while the 21-year-old could keep his place for tomorrow’s trip to Millwall.
Asked about Davis, midfielder Cook told the Daily Echo: “He’s a great lad.
“He’s settled in really well, I think you saw the last game (against Swansea) how well he played.
“He is going to take a few games to get going but you can see how direct he is. He played a good part for the goal (at Derby). He is a top lad and a good member of our squad.”
Asked what it was like to move from north to south as a young player, Cook replied: “It’s fine if you’ve got a strong base, which he has. We have got a club here, a mentality of welcoming people.
“He has settled in well and hopefully we can all progress.”
